IDENTITY(series)

Contemporary art is in many ways concerned with a constant search for novelty, originality, new procedures, new techniques and new materials. For me, the first and the most important goal of my art is to translate the entire panorama of life in Cuba and for this the most effective method is the more conservative Realism.

From the beginning of my career, the identity of each character has been my primary goal in each painting. I intend to represent the Cuban identity in each person, as a snapshot in time, to make visible expressions, actions, satire and irony. The human figure, for me, is a bridge full of emotions and experiences. All of these aspects are mixed in one scene, in order to show an image of daily life with all of the details that identify the Cuba today.
